AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

Central Medical College & Hospital has been established so that the young

students will learn Medical science to:

  • Acquire knowledge & skill to solve common health problems, handle emergency medicine & casualties and manage public health medicine in general practice with an emphasis on physical, psychological, and environmental & moral factors involving the patient himself and his community.

  • Improve the system of medical education and health care delivery with the present-day concept of community-oriented medical education and training which will have relevance to the need of the country. It is intended to bridge the gap between the need and resources for the development of health education, maternal and child welfare, and others in its health programs.

  • Be able to work with others in a team for community development.

  • Agree to pursue further training and education in order to acquire new skills and to keep abreast the new developments in medicine.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum adopted by the Faculty of Medicine is by the University of Chittagong, approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) which is similar to the curriculum of Indian Medical Colleges.

CLASS

Class begins at 8.00 A.M. morning and continues up to 3.00 P.M on all working days.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

  • A minimum GPA of 7.00 together in S.S.C/O level & HSC/A level (Separately minimum GPA 3.00 in each) is mandatory for Foreign students.

  • 65% TO 70% in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

  • Not more than one-year gap after completion of Higher secondary examination.

HOW & WHEN TO APPLY:

  • Students can apply during till the month of November (This year due to the Covid -19 crisis this date may be extended further).

  • However, we recommend the students apply and reserve the seats as early as possible as the admissions are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Due to the high demand for admission in good colleges, the seats of the college may be filled well before the cut-off date.

  • 1st-year MBBS classes generally start from the first week of January or as decided by the Government each year.

  • The student’s S.S.C/O level, H.S.C/A level, or equivalent certificates & mark sheets should be attested by the Ministry of Education as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their own country which is taken care of by Karol Educational Consultancy.

  • They should apply for the Equivalency certificate through the Embassy of Bangladesh in their country providing the above-mentioned attested documents. The Office of Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Dhaka, Bangladesh will go through the documents, evaluate them, and will issue an Equivalence Certificate for the eligible candidates, which can be collected from the Bangladesh Mission in their country or directly from the Office of DGHS. This process will also be taken care of by Karol Educational Consultancy.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

For admission to the MBBS course, foreign students should apply in the prescribed form along with the following documents.

  • Attested photocopy of SSC & HSC or Equivalent Exam Certificate.

  • Attested photocopy of SSC & HSC or Equivalent Exam Mark Sheets with their Academic Transcript.

  • Three recent passport size attested photographs.

  • Passport Photocopy.

​

*During the admission, all original documents will be retained by the college until the completion of the course.

SCOPE FOR MCI:

  • Students from INDIA are required to appear in FMGE test, conducted by the Medical Council of India after obtaining their MBBS degrees from Medical Colleges in Bangladesh which are recognized by MCI.

  • Students finishing their medical education from medical colleges in Bangladesh have the highest passing percentage in MCI screening test.

CAMPUS:

  • The main campus is located beside the Dhaka–Chittagong Highway at Paduar Bazar, Bishaw Road in Comilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila, in the Comilla District of Chittagong Division.

ACADEMICS:

  • The college offers a five-year course leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

  • The one-year internship after graduation can be done in India or in Bangladesh which is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

  • CENTRAL MEDICAL COLLEGE is affiliated with the University of Chittagong, overseen by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Bangladesh) and Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

  • The degree is recognized by the Medical Council of India, W.H.O, and other medical councils across the globe.

  • The library stays open from 8 am to 8 pm on all working days of the week except on Fridays and on national holidays.

  • Students can visit the library after their classes or at a suitable time and have permission to borrow books from there.

  • The library is facilitated by Internet Accessibility, So the students can gather knowledge online also.

COLLEGE STUDENT’S GUIDE:

  • To help and guide the students in matters related to studies, examination, attendance, and conduct, a batch of 10 students is placed under a teacher.

  • Students are advised to meet their guiding teacher on regular basis or whenever they are asked to.

  • Private tuition by faculty members is strictly prohibited.

COLLEGE DISCIPLINE:

  • Students must be disciplined both inside and outside of the college.

  • Depending on the nature of the offense disciplinary action with the following penalties may be imposed on a student:

  1. Warning

  2. Fines

  3. Expulsion from the College, temporarily or permanent.

  • Penalties imposed on the student will be recorded in his/her Transcript/Testimonial.

  • A student may be removed from College Register if he/she remaining absent from classes for more than three months without any notice, on the advice of the Academic Council on disciplinary grounds.

DEPARTMENT: 

  • They have 27 different departments which include almost all the genres of medical study, with efficient Professors who are experts in their respective fields.

  • The five years course has four professional exams.
