Compared to the rest of the world the fees charged for MBBS courses in China are expansively reasonable. The charges of tutoring in the universities in China are subsidized by the Ministry of Public Health of the Chinese Government. Introduction About Xinjiang Medical University

Located in north of Urumqi city and established in 1956, Xinjiang Medical University (XJMU) is a unique comprehensive medical university full of ethical endemic and regional character, including that of its predecessors, Xinjiang Medical College and Xinjiang Chinese Medical College. Approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 1998, XJMU has officially developed into a large and comprehensive medical university for teaching, treatment, and expert scientific research.

The university is made up of 16 colleges/faculties, 13,848 staff, 21,818 students including 600+ international students. In 2006, XJMU was proudly awarded “Excellent” in undergraduate teaching standards evaluated by the Ministry of Education in China. It is also approved amont the first group of institutions to admit international medical students in 2009. After being ed as “Advanced International Education Organization”, we are named as “Modeling Base for International Education”.In 2013, the university gained good result in the international M.B.B.S. undergraduate education assessment and the scale of the international medicine education become as the leading pioneer at the national level. International Education College is responsible for international students’ management.

Education in Xinjiang Medical University

The teaching faculty consisted of 1163 professors and assistant professors, and 4290 employees in other roles. The university has instituted 400 supervisory positions for doctorate and masters students.

There are also 800+ international students, as well as 7,301 students studying at the School of Continuing Education. Xinjiang Medical University attaches great importance to the development of teaching staff and takes great measures in developing and strengthening them. The staff and teaching faculty is made up of more than 15,070 people, among them 914 are academic teachers and 977 are clinical teachers. There are 207 professors and 601 associated professors.

There are three mobile postdoctoral centers (Clinical medicine, pharmacy, and preventive medicine), 1 postdoctoral research station. Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the most 'inland' city in the world. With a population of two million gaily-dressed ethnic inhabitants. The temperature in Urumqi widely ranges between day and night as it belongs to the semi-arid continental climate of middle temperate zone. The climate is extremely arid due to long period of sunlight and bare precipitation. It has shorter spring and autumn, and longer winter and summer.

May to October is the golden season for traveling to Urumqi, when flowers are in full bloom and the fruits, like melons, are ripe with its fragrance. Here we should indicate that there are two hours time difference between Xinjiang and Beijing. The local working time is usually from 09:30 or 10:00. You had better not start your travel plan before 08:00 in the morning since it is still dark at that time


The university provides in-campus hostel to the international students. the hostel building equips with electrical lift. Two persons share a room with air conditioner, attached bathroom, color TV, telephone, bed with required amenities and furniture, free hot---drinking---water heater, refrigerate, internet access, public laundry and kitchen, Students are required to pay the electricity and water they used.

In Ürümqi a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSk) prevails, with very large differences between summer and winter, warm summers, with a July daily average of 23.7 °C (74.7 °F), and very cold winters, with a January daily average of −12.6 °C (9.3 °F). The annual average temperature is 6.90 °C (44.4 °F). The city is semi-arid, with its summers slightly wetter than its winters, yet sunny weather is much more likely in the warmer months, and relative humidity is the lowest during summer. With monthly percent possible sunshine ranging from 30 percent in December to 70 percent in August and September, the city receives 2,523 hours of bright sunshine annually. Its annual precipitation is about 290 millimetres (11.4 in). Extreme temperatures have ranged from −41.5 °C (−43 °F) to 42.1 °C (108 °F).
