  • It is a festive ceremony where members of faculty Academic Councils in gowns give diplomas to graduates. Most graduates also get diplomas as interpreters and translators, sometimes in two or three languages. They are given PFUR graduate blue ribbons, a photo album with the pictures of their group mates and professors and University logo souvenirs. They next day graduates go on the Moscow river boat trip.

Libraries

During entrance exams applicants can use the library showing a passport and paper from the admission commission. At the lending department you can get books at the following terms:

  • Study books- for one or two semesters depending on the course.
  • Scientific books and fiction- not more than 3 books for up to 10 days (for undergraduate students), for up to 1 month (for graduate and postgraduate students and teachers). You should order scientific books and fiction one day before.
In the library it is forbidden to:
  • speak loudly, disturb the readers and staff
  • hand over documents and received books to other people
  • wear coats and hats
  • use mobile phones.

The student campus of PFUR is situated along Miklukho-Maklaya street starting from Leninsky prospect in the direction of Volgina street. On the even-numbered side you can find: The main building of PFUR (called «Cross»), buildings of faculties of medicine and agriculture, and also sport complex, policlinic, the archives and the new building of the faculty of the Russian language and general educational disciplines, the building of natural sciences and humanitarian faculties hosting the faculty of Humanitarian and social sciences, Institute of hotel business and tourism (IHBT), Institute for international programs (IIP), Institute of Supplementary professional education, postgraduate department.

The student hostels are situated on the other side of the road (Blocks No 1, 2, 12, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 9, 10 and 11): Blocks 3 and 4 – Institute of foreign languages and the study-education center, Block 4 – accountancy office, Press-center, «Druzhba» editorial board, PFUR TV, social development department, supply services; between Blocks 8 and 9 – the International culture club (Interclub); Block 11 – PFUR sanatorium-preventorium and faculty of refresher training of medical staff.

Accommodation

Students living in school dormitories should observe Regulations on International Students Dormitory Management. Anyone who violates the regulations shall be penalized accordingly. Accommodation and Living Expenses Students living on campus should pay for housing promptly.

Climate

  • Moscow has a humid continental climate with severe winters, no dry season, warm summers and strong seasonality (Köppen-Geiger classification: Dfb).
  • According to the Holdridge life zones system of bioclimatic classification Moscow is situated in or near the cool temperate moist forest biome.

  • Average monthly temperatures vary by 27.5 °C (49.5°F). This indicates that the continentality type is continental, subtype subcontinental.
  • In the winter time records indicate temperatures by day reach -6°C (21.2°F) on average falling to -12.7°C (9.2°F) overnight.
  • In spring time temperatures climb reaching 8.7°C (47.6°F) generally in the afternoon with overnight lows of -1°C (30.2°F).
  • During summer average high temperatures are 22.7°C (72.8°F) and average low temperatures are 11.3°C (52.4°F). Come autumn/ fall temperatures decrease achieving average highs of 8°C (46.4°F) during the day and lows of 0.7°C (33.2°F) generally shortly after sunrise.
  • Total annual Precipitation averages 689.2 mm (27.1 inches) which is equivalent to 689.2 Litres/m² (16.9 Gallons/ft²).
